I will also be posting pictures in Nature in the Garden of the wild life and some bird pictures in the Birds & their environment.

Portage Glacier, the most visited attraction in Alaska.

Portage Lake & glaciers this lake is over 600 feet deep! The water is gray like it looks. what happens is the weight of the glaciers crush the rock into dust and when they melt in the warm weather the water runs from underneath. This dust causes the water to turn gray.

More Glaciers.

Horse Shoe lake, this was caused by a beaver dam

Wonderful scenery! Great photos, DW. (But I'm glad we don't have snow and ice on the ground in July!)

Great shots DW! Alaska is a beautiful state!

We were there last year and are planning on returning next summer. We're extending our stay to include a charter out of Anchorage into either Nome or Barrow.... haven't decided yet. I can't wait!

Yes all are nice, but also please concentrate on the flowers too...It will also make a pleasant smell and the place beautiful...You can get into a good Flower shop in Alaska and it was a place to see different types of flowers.
