We have a small area of limestone pavement in North Lancashire near the coast. We had friends staying (Ray Cobb of Galanthus 'Ray Cobb'and his wife) who wanted to see it.
It is a great natural habitat with some rare plants growing both in the grikes in the limestone and around the area

hypericum growing at the bottom of one of the holes
many ferns grow there
a very rare find,a natural hybrid between primula vulgaris and primula veris
the only cyprepedium in Lancashire. It used to be larger with up to six flowers, but a couple of years ago somebody tried to steal it and it is slowly recovering
