We leave on Tuesday for a couple of weeks in Wyoming staying first of all in Jackson and then near Cody.Probably spend most of the first day getting through immigration. We shall be visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone and are looking forward to some great plants and hopefully a few animals.I hope to have some pictures to post when we get back.

Tony, I'm glad to see that your vacation was out here in the wild, wild west. Tell us about it, will you? It is always interesting to me to know what people in other countries think when they visit us.

Tony I am sure you will have a fantastic holiday as we did with the Grand Canyon . We met a nice couple on route and they they said you must go to yellowstone we did not have the time. There is so much to see in America we so love it so much so we are searching to rent a villa in Florida for Christmas never experieced christmas in America think Florida should be cosy enough for us.

We arrived in Jackson ,Wyoming a day late after an enforced stay overnight in Chicago.I will only say we arrived in Chicago at 10am for the 5pm flight to jackson and it was cancelled at 9pm.Our first and last trip on United Airlines. This was forgotten as soon as we landed. We had a couple of days in Jackson, five days in and around Yellowstone staying near Cody and then five days back in Jackson. It is the most spectacular country side imaginable. This is the view at the airport on arrival
View of the Tetons from Oxbow lake
Top of the Beartooth pass
View on Chief Joseph Highway
waterfall on the Yellowstone river in the Yellowstone 'Grand Canyon'

Beautiful photos! Thanks for the armchair trip! It's probably the only way I'll ever see Yellowstone.

Great pictures Tony. I remember going there many years ago. Between the altitude and the smelly sulphur a headache for several days.

Great photos Tony, thanks for sharing them. You have shown us more areas of the globe in such a short period of time! Did Mrs. W make the trip with you?

Yes we went together and met our son and daughter in law for the days in Yellowstone. They flew up from Houston,I think few people here realise how big the US is,it was a long way for them to come as well. Mimi it has probably not changed much in size since you were there.July 4th was fun the temp reached 99f at midday and no snow !!

So true Tony. We went cross country a few years ago and I thought we never would get through the lower portion of Wyoming. I'm glad to hear that Mrs. W's broken ankle mended. This is certainly not a trip for someone with any ankle problems. -

Wyoming is lovely as visited by you. It was a good trip for us as well. I saw my first antelope there. Lots of wide open spaces in areas. I knew you would enjoy this trip. Flying with any airline these days can be hairy. My trip to Houston last fall..OY! I used to love the mountains but now get high altitude sickness.. not fun.
