Just a peak into my Brug World, just finished moving them out and tearing down the Brug house! Hurt isn't a word I would use now!

The weather has been nice here in Wichita,Kansas I've had my brugs out a couple weeks now,and a cold front is moving in,30* temps for the low,can they take these cold temps? And if so.how many days of it can they take, even though the day time temps are back up to almost 60*.

Dbryan, this time of year cold doesn't last that long so you could throw a blanket over them at night or just put them up close to the house. Just remember to uncover during the day. I had a few pots that didn't do much last year and when it came time to toss them into the Brug house, well I ran out of room! To my surprise several have come back from the roots and they were out all winter but within 3 feet of the house.

Dbryan, are you going to dig them up or just cover and pray for the best? A little frost and snow this time of year doesn't last long.

I think I will cover them up,low tonite is 31* high tomorrow 44*,then all heck breaks loose, rain turning to snow and 26*then I will cover up with some old quilts. It got down to 33* lastnite with no visible damage. Not sure how much cold they can take before leaf damage appears,I know a rose leaf can take 26* for a couple hours before they burn, but 40mph winds the last couple days has just about de-leafed them anyway!!!!,these are over 6ft tall brugs, and the pink beauty vareity,so will just have to see, what mother nature throws at me. Don
