Hi there. I need a little advice about growing fuchsias. This is the first one I have grown. It doesn't seem to have quite as many blooms as it did originally. I haven't been deadheading, nor did I do any pinching back when I first got it. I have been fertilizing about every 1-2 weeks. It is growing in a pot with two other plants. It gets morning sun but is shaded in the hot Georgia afternoon. Any advice you can give will be very appreciated. Thanks!!

maybe it is to hot this week it was (the whole week) around the 30 degrees and my fushias dropped many flowers. They just don't like it when it is to hot But I'm not sure if this could be the problem Maarten

Thanks Maarten. I'll hope for some cooler weather and see if it picks up.

From your photo it looks similar to 'Lechlade Magician'. When it's finished flowering this year, cut it back, this will encourage it to grown more 'bushy'. Then when it begins to shoot new growth, pinch back the growing tips after 3 pairs of leaves have formed on each stem. Feed a general feed and do remove the dead/dying flowers, this will encourage it to flower even more :-)

If it were mine I should cut it back now, for the season is long enough here to have a second flowering (reckon about 6 weeks after cutting back) and you sure will have more flowers; (but second flowering depends on how long your growing season is). Gerda

Thanks Kath and Perkie! I have a VERY long growing season, probably won't frost until November. I'll give these a try :)
