Was at a flee market Saturday and bought a fuchsia. Didn't realize there were so many kinds. Mine is the deep pink with purple on the bottom of the flower. Was planning to pot it for my deck, but it gets a lot of sun. The tag says shade / shade with sun. How much sun will it tolerate. I've never had one before.

Without a name; you are gonna have to 'play' with it. In northern latitudes the sun is not as intense and many fushias can take full sun. I'd give it a spot where it would get 4 hours of sun to begin, the move it to a sunnier spot. If you note sun-scald on the leaves; more shade.

I just looked at the tag again, and it has Winston Churchill at the top.

Yes indeed, I give mine as much sun as they can take. If it it too much the plants start burning then just move them to a position of less light. I've got quite a few varieties I can grow in full sun here in southern NH.

Churchill is a tender upright that will take full sun for half the day.

Winston only gets about 2 feet tall and is good in a container. I do keep mine in a hanging basket that hangs off the porch railing

Fuschias require a period of dormancy. Trying to keep it growing over winer is not recommended. An unheated garage or basement is where to keep them until spring just as long as they don't freeze.

Winston Churchill must not be under 6 degrees Celcius in winter - you did not buy an easy overwinterer, but at least it has beautiful flowers! Enjoy it and show us a picture - if possible!
