Purchased this early in the spring as a start and it grew like a sanshee all summer. Have it in a 2 gallon pot which it became a nice 16" mound just constantly filled with flowers. Somebody mentioned they had poor luck with it, but it's done great; handled the heat well and only suffered minimal leaf scorch. Daytime temps lately have been from mid-70s to upper 80s, however a few nights have dipped down to as low as 45. It has dropped about half it's leaves although the flower buds are still intact. So is this a more sensitive cultivar? And any special handling required?

In the thread "Flee Market Purchase" I said that (in our climate!) Winston Churchill is not an easy overwinter - must not be under 6 degrees C, if you want to keep it. I store it in my greenhouse and try to keep it growing a bit, while most of my full-grown fuchsia's have a "winter-sleep" Gerda
