This is last year's addition to our garden. I guess I was attracted to this plant because it was voted perennial plant of the year 1996. So far I am very happy with it's performance. Tall, upright spikes of very pale pink, bell shaped flowers on purplish red foliage. Very low maintenance plant.

Hi Missgarden:

I bought it too for the same reason. It is in bloom now and I quite like it.

It is a nice looking plant. I can see it paired with Maltese Cross. :)

Yep, I'll latch onto almost any variagated leaves. This survived a 12 degree freeze; has come back gangbusters.

I added it several years ago and now have LOTS to share and move around.

I love the combination of the flower and leaf color. You have a nice strong plant. Mine are in part shade and need staking. At the arboretum near me where I first feel in love with Huskers Red, there is a large patch of it on either side of a short path. It is so beautiful. BTW, for those who are sensitive, it is a musky plant but not bad in the garden. If you collect the seed pods, it might scent the room where you keep it.

THAT IS A BEAUTY, IT LOOKS GREAT IN THE EARLY SUMMER WHEN BLOOMING, AND THE LEAVES ARE GREAT CONTRAST COLOR ALL SUMMER.
