This form of lavender has pretty yellow flowers but mine has never bloomed. I particularly like its blue-grey foliage.

you've got a nice one there. i cant say i have heard of it before. i like the english lavender and the edible one... i forget the name now im rusty in nomenclature.

I love the foliage, too--nice photo of it, Pat. Mine has gotten old and woody, but I like the flowers, too. The leaves have a strong fragrance, but doesn't smell like lavender to me.

This is strictly speaking not a lavender, hence the different scent. The genus is Santolina and not Lavandula.

It might be called Cotton Lavender, the same way an Acacia is often called Mimosa or a Pelargonium is called Geranium.

Visually there is obviously a similarity and they seem to go well together in a herb bed.
