Hey, everyone -

We got a good cold snap last night. Our Salvia elegans ain't long for this season - I'd like to preserve some of the leaves, if it's worth it. Can't figure out what to do with it. The leaves turn black as soon as they dry, so I'm guessing potpourri's out; I've never heard of using sage in tea, though it seems like this'd be good.

What do you do with your pineapple sage?

Umm I use pineapple sage for tea,, it does have a bit differnt taste, but mixed with rose hips, hibiscus flowers , orange and lemon rind it is not bad,, it is also good for cooking chicken with especially if you want a bit sweeter taste and well I have used it for jellies, jams and chutneys for flavors that compliment chicken and pork,
maybe that will give you some ideas, I also toss it in the potpourii thats is in water over the heating candle, for a subtle scent,,

Jwj. Thank You for the mention of the 2 other sages. I will have to take a ride out to the Herb place to see if I can get them here.
Do they both get as big as 'Pineapple'???
