Many flowers in the border are so pretty that I forget that they are also herbs. Sweet Cicely is one of these. Be careful to remove spent blooms if you want to contain this plant. The seeds are a shiny black, easy to remove and very pretty too. This plant grows in shade for me.

Hi gardenbug...I grow this too. Eat the leaves and seeds in salads or sweeten a berry pie with a few leaves. Has a licorice flavour. Madly invasive but very pretty.

LF! Make sure you snip off the black seed heads so it doesn't take over. It is very worthwhile in the garden! I love its lacy airy foliage.

Here's to SPRING!
