Ginseng is now being grown in the Brantford ON area. Tobacco production is being phased out by Governments policies, and Ginseng is becoming one of the replacement crops. There is more acreage every year. It is a very labour and capital investment crop with high financial risk. Ginseng is a controversial product;in that, there have been few meaningful clinical trials conducted. Most of the high risk crop is exported to Asia. Canadian production is a small player in the NA market. Wisconsin USA is in the big leagues. This has been presented for interest only. When driving by, one is astonished by the care required to grow this crop.
