I grew this from seed and find it quite attractive. My aim is to make the horehound candy (have recipe) an old-time favorite. Another plant I have now is teasle--I know it spreads like the devil---but it's stature and multiple "flowers" are a real eye-catcher in the garden. Mine are at least 8 feet now. I also like the huge varieties of mints too--chocolate makes a great tea, and banana is my favorite just to smell. Wonder what banana-chocolate-mint tea would be like?

Horehound candy sounds very tasty. Funny to hear you say you grew it from seed. It grows wild all over the place here not that I have ever used it which seems a bit of a waste.
I love teasels too and never pull them out when they turn up (I think the birds bring them.)
I have never come across Banana mint. Does it really smell like bananas?
Banana-chocolate tea sounds delicious!

I got banana mint from Richter's in Ontario. It smells minty-banana--always the mint tones there--but I love it. The leaves are also green with yellow streaks--fitting sort of.
Chocolate mint tastes like those peppermint patty chocolates at Christmas.
Horehound candy is actually just a hard crack sugar stage with an infusion of horehound. I remember the candy as being little pillow-shapes with grey and white stripes, often around Christmastime with spectacular name of HumBugs!

Humbugs! Well I never knew Horehound was in them. We call them that here too. Ha! Learn something new everyday.
The Banana mint sounds quite pretty. Have to see if I can find some here. I have Chocolate Peppermint and Spearmint of course and I think some Apple mint somewhere but if I can find any space I would like to add Banana mint to my collection.
