I just thought I would do a little comparison on here of how my little herb garden grows.
The first one is well kempt around Apr/May
Plant Forum
This one more full. Still the plants are distinguishable around May/June

Then the lavender shows up.

And then everything else grew! This was taken about a month ago before I had to chop all my rotten lavender heads off. I can no longer get in the herb garden and in about 2 weeks I go in and chop it all down ready for next year.

Moira, your herb garden is so beautiful and I'm amazed at how wonderful everything looks considering the amount of rain you had this year. Lots of lovely textures and colors, as usual! How do you get in there to tend to everything? I'd be afraid I'd stomp on something. (And not because it's a jungle, either! If I get up the nerve, I'll show you a jungle. Hahaha!!)

Hi DJ.
Hadn't quite finished when you posted. Still haven't figured out how to get more than two pics to a page without making them too small.

with great difficulty. Normally I harvest whatever herbs I want to use before they flower apart from the lavender. After that I don't go in again until I chop it. It is very tricky deadheading the Budleiea(?)...I can never spell that...as I have to balance on the edge of a 3ft wall!

I'm sorry! I loved what I saw and got all excited. (What method do you use to post your photos?) Your Thyme and Bfly Bush are beautiful, and your Clary Sage and Hyssop. It's all beautiful.

How is it that your herb garden isn't taken over by weeds in the meantime?

Moira, I love your herb garden! Jungle or not jungle! ;) What a variety and texture! Can imagine the fragrance as well! Your white butterfly bush is gorgeous!

Still haven't figured out how to get more than two pics to a page without making them too small.
Just wonder Moira what one has to another? If you link the pictures from another site, there is totally no size limit as it seems. If you post from your hard drive the limit is less than 100 KB per picture (not the post) and it is nice to have them no wider than 700px (the system is set for 800px). And you just keep adding them (clip button). Five not enough? ;) Just click again on the clip and start over!

There are a few but quite frankly there just ain't no room!

Thanks Malgorzata. The butterfly bush is 'white
profusion' and certainly lives up to its name.

As far as posting the pics goes I haven't really tried fiddling around with the buttons. I take them straight from my hard drive. Using the 'edit picture'. I compress to website size but it won't let me post more than 2 pictures using the clip. Maybe I need to go and practice in the test area.
