This looks like a normal borage mostly, but isn't. I got it from a herb collector, but we don't know the name of the variety. It has a white speckled appearance on the leaves - more obvious when it grows in semishade, where it looks as though it has been dusted with icing sugar. It comes true from seed. Other than that it seems normal, maybe a bit more compact than the common sort. Anyone heard of it? I may be able to send seed later, will depend on customs whether it gets through.

I've always admired the blue flowers of borage I've come across. Do you know if it spreads?

Massively here, Tanya! It is an annual (usually, there is a rare perennial form) but self seeds each year vigorously.

Here are the baby frosted borages, now coming up in midwinter. The seed I saved has also germinated, needn't have bothered because loads came up in the garden, however, I've been able to send some to Queensland. The normal borage is only a few metres away, but they don't seem to have crossed.
Sorry about the weeds, still on my 'to do' list! I also have a white flowered borage, still growing, didn't die off in summer, but that one doesn't seem to produce much seed.
