These guys are growing through the fence to the east side - like that morning sun. I have had the best luck growing these in cinder blocks. LOL Lavender that was planted in my front sunny bed didn't do as well. I believe it suffered from watering other nearby plants to get them established their first year. From now on its strictly raised beds with really sharp draining for these Mediterranean plants. This one is taken in August.

Both are wonderful scented plants. I grow lavender as a short hedge and it does better some years than others. As for rosemary, I have a huge plant that was a gift and which spends summers outside in the vegetable garden. Right now it lives indoors.
