...make for a nice combination. I normally harvest the oregano before blooming, but have so much already I decided to let it go. I love fresh terragon on grilled salmon.

I want to renew my herb garden this year and replace with some new kitchen herbs as putting in a new kitchen in July at the planning stage. Looking forward to my new induction hob. My herb garden is outside my back door can see it from the kitchen window so handy.

Bruggie, terragon is actually a common name for Artemisia dracunculus, also known as German terragon or French terragon. The dried leaves are very aromatic and I use it often with fish. It does have a slight fennel smell and taste, but fennel is a different herb (Foeniculum vulgare) that is usually harvested for its seeds.

Oh fresh tarragon sounds sooooo good...I've never grown that and I don't know why. I have a really thick patch of oregano about 3'X3' that I cut down to the ground every year. It's about a foot tall right now and I caught Dally standing right in the middle of it with a big old smile on his face the other day...Looked like he was in doggie heaven...LOL It really does have an invigorating smell !!

My tarragon looks lousy compared to that. Tarragon typically doesn't overwinter here so I bring mine in...I once knew a woman who had such a major green thumb she had tarragon as a perrenial here. And her tarragon looked like a small bush. Sadly, she's not well now so I don't pest her with questions on her herbal and gardening expertise... These ridiculous downpours from thunderstorms can do a number on tarragon I've found. Tarragon prefers drier soil and no wet feet so when we get a 3 inch downpour it's not happy. It takes about 2 or 3 days to dry out from it.
