Erroneously named this Heme: "Canadian Border Patrol"
It is however: "El Desperado"
I did have a Border Patrol but now realize that I must have lost it to the squirrels a few winters ago.

Oh I know Notmartha, what's in a name eh? But through co-incident and now here on G.B. I finally straightened out those two. I remember a few years ago, could not find the Border patrol on the one side of a round flower bed. Then the Desperado appeared on the other side. It just confused me a bit. O.K., listen , only if you don't mind, I take some B.P. seed this year. Thanks for the offer. I have done the seed routine only onces and that was with the Stella D'Oro's . Seeds are so different, harder. You have to be quick with the harvesting with them , the birds just love those seeds. It does take 3 years though before you can expect flowers from seeds, right? - No matter.

I never understood the naming of Canadian Border Patrol because the daylily is purple. Aren't the Border Patrol uniforms red?

I understand the confusion, Loveinlife. The two are so very close in their colour's. I did have them both, Canadian Border Patrol & El Desperado, I am now only left with the later. (Squirrels dug them out). Here is a picture of the Canadian Border Patrol taken from my Plant Catalogue "Vivaces Nordiques" (Northern Perennials). They have the most beautiful Catalog. They change it every few years and this year it has got a new look again. Here is the address of the web site: www.vivacesnordiques.com I got all my Daylily's from this Daylily business. Here is a picture from "Canadian Border Patrol" from an older Catalogue:
And here, as you will see when you click into the above web site, is a NEW picture of the Canadian Border Patrol (2008 edition)

Yeah, I actually went to another website after I asked if the daylily was purple, and found a pic of it. Sorry, Gerlinda, but I can't see most of your photos. I can see the first two you posted, but all the others give me the blasted red X. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that the red uniforms are worn by the Canadians Royal Mounted Police. Somehow I thought it was the Border Patrol uniforms that were red.

Yeap they sure are, those Mounties look handsome in their red uniforms. You see them our West of Canada and also in Ottawa, Ontario, our Parliament seat. As to you getting all red x's, I don't know why that would be. Has to be something in your computer. I just checked and all is there. Let me know how you made out.
