Here are three daylily seedlings, children of a very special mother:
These are from seed produced by the daylily Zephirine picked out for me when she was in Washington State for a conference a few years back. I had to leave the plant behind when we moved, but I saved some seed, and these three have made it. I hope their bloom is as lovely as their mother's. Not many plants survived our move, with the accident and then our new dog with her taste for plants and potting soil, so these are very special. Anne

Thanks, Janet. They are still growing. I can't wait to see if they blossom, but it will be a while yet.

Oh, Ann, I hadn't been lurking here for ages...what a lovely thought! These 3 little babies are so cute!!!! I hadn't thought I could be a mother again, you know, as I have been promoted a (very happy!) grandma 6 months ago ! Another evidence that gardening keeps you younger, don't you think? lol! Please, please, do show us the pics when they finally bloom, will you? That should be next year or the next, depends on your climate now! And congratulations on your sowing skills...and faithfulness! Love from your Zeph!

Thank you grandmere (we used to say memmay) zephirine, and congratulations. We should have seen you lurking in the bird forum with this fellow.

I see the stork now flying in this direction with a huge family of daylilies cocooned in his sling. I would love to start a new family. But do you have our Utah address? I always seem to have problems sending you e-mail, but I'll try again. We might be in Washington State anyway -- if Terry's health problems don't interfere, we'll be there from mid-July to mid-September. Anne
