Last spring I was given about 75 Salmon Sheen daylily plants. When we were planting them my husband said, look, this one is different, it is much bigger, and it was. I planted it separate, in another bed to keep an eye on it. When it bloomed it was a dark rusty red color, but very similar in form to Salmon Sheen, only a little bigger. It has bloomed the same color this year. Another SS plant put off a new fan this year, much bigger, and the flower is a wine red, and a lot bigger than SS, and the form is different, one also put off a plant which had a two tone brown and yellow flower. These new plants are not proliferations, they are new fans coming off of the Salmon Sheen plants. What is happening, I have never seen this before.
