The Happy Halloween, has been at the www.lilyauction.com I been searching at Ebay hoping someone would have it cheaper. Do a search for ended auctions at lilyauction. One ended the other day, no bids, and the seller wanted $99 for it. If you look at past auctions it has sold from anywheres from $70-175 all depends who's looking and who wants it.

Well I picked up two more, my last purchase will be Royal Braid for my fall buying. I may pick up Ed Brown next fall they have it at Ebay $10, I can see why they use that one, the pink gets blocked out, when crossed to a darker color. Mildred Mitchell

I thought I would post what I paid for each daylily, I bought in the past week. Just to show, if you play the auction game you can get super nice daylily's cheap. I have watched some that I just purchased sell for $15 and up each. Sometimes people get into bidding wars and don't want to let it go, even though there might be 3-5 more of the same lily up for sale. I never have understood that, thats why I always wait till the last second to bid. Also another tip, if theres a daylily with buy it now and it's cheap get it,just an example I bought Mildred Mitchell a double fan for $8 with buy it now, there was an auction in process and the bidding was up to $15 single fan, go figure. Strawberry Fields Forever $6.49 SIMPLY SENSATIONAL $7.95 Border Lord $7.95 PAPER BUTTERFLY $4.99 CANADIAN BORDER PATROL $4.95 Mildred Mitchell $8.00 Clothed in Glory $10.00

I was wondering when you cross would it be best to make crosses to both parents , when/if they are fertile both ways Example Strawberry Fields Forever x Mildred Mitchell Mildred Mitchell x Strawberry Fields Forever Does the pod parent tend to transfer most of it's traits? Or would both way crosses have the same outcome?

Guff, I just thought of something. There is a website called T's flowers. She does Daylily crosses and sells both plants and seeds. You may find some of the information interesting as to what she has crossed. Or you may find one of her Daylilies is a "must have". http://www.tsflowers.com/daylilies.html

TerryK, seeds are cheap there. Well I harvest this pod today, I ended up getting 31 seeds, Pod plant is Fairy Tale Pink a Dip, I have no idea what the pollen parent is. The ones that I have been buying are all Tet's, I don't want to have to guess to much next year, like I did this year. Received 5 daylily's today, the Strawberry Fields Forever, is a little on the small, hopefully it flowers next year, but the others are super in size.

Janet are these the pollen containers you mentioned? If not I think these would work well.

I received Mildred Mitchell and Clothed in Glory today, I will plant those tomorrow. I planted the 5, I received the other day today. The seller selling the Mildred Mitchell and Clothed in Glory is super, the CIG has 4 fans, MM has 3 fans, and the root system is huge on both. I will buy more plants from them in the future, knowing how healthy and super nice fans they sell.

Hyer1972, I have been buying them on Ebay. The Strawberry Fields Forever, was on the small size, but the other were all super. I was worried, not knowing if they would send nice fans, but so far from the other two sellers that I purchased from, they were super healthy fans. This is the Clothed In Glory 4 fan that I received, in the auction it had said double fan. Notice the huge root system, I think this one's going to be a strong growing, and increase fast.

I picked up Royal Braid for $6.50. Amazing how the same daylily can look so different. I have noticed that alot, when I compare prices and look up information on certain daylily's that I want.

I collected a couple pods today, when I opened the pods up I found 4 seeds like the two pictured. I take it that the crack part, the seed has germinated? I put them into some soil.

Guff, I took your advice and bought Azure Eyes on EBay from the auction. It is fertile both ways. Can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the tip!
