I finally took photos at my friends house. I can not capture the color with my camera. The photos come out looking too orange. This is the large flower form and a gorgeous old plant with lots of bloom. Wish I knew the name of this one. I would call it a definite (amber) rust red to golden red. I can't describe the color but is my absolute favorite daylily. Any clues what it might be? Not a madarin orange color but what I see is RUST (brown) red something wonderful anyway when it comes to color. Not faded either but rich and beautiful. It is 100 temps again so maybe it would be a bit darker if it wasn't so hot.

Daylily Fans,

I looked the flower color over again. What it reminds me of very much is the color of Crimson Pirate only with a larger flower. The color tones are much alike....has a brown/rust/amber cast to the red which is what I really love here. Any clues what the larger flowered one might be I would love to know the name. My friend so far has not offered me a division of his anyway.
