They called it 'milky bell flower'.

It bloomed almost all summer! Do the other ones you gals have posted pictures of bloom all summer? I love this one and would LOVE to try the blue ones!

Looks like C. Punctata.
Very invasive here.

Yes I would agree Tomas Campanula Punctata, creamy white to dusky pink flowers.
Another one very similar is Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth'. with toothed mid-green leaves; pendent, bell-shaped flowers, 5cm(2in)or more long, flushed reddish purple outside and spotted red inside.
Yes Rhonda, here in my part of the UK they flower from early
summer until the frosts come.

Ronda, some of mine bloom on and off all summer and fall, but others seem to be a single blooming. Many of them seed around and I like that. I would not call them invasive because they are a breeze to remove if you don't want them. As for me, I like it when they choose their favorite spots to grow.

They are very lovely and I can see why you like them in spite of how they grow.

What blue variety would you recommend for me to try? I would want one that blooms on and off all summer.

I love Campanula rotundifolia (Bluebell). It blooms for me all summer and even into the fall. I'm not all that familiar with Campanula and so bluebell may be very common, fabulous none the less. This new forum makes me wish I'd photographed it. Next year..

I planted 3 campanula "blue bells" last spring and they bloomed profusely from June to Sept. and reached almost 4'. I have them planted in a new bed that gets full sun from morning til night. They are perennial and supposed the reseed profusely and thats fine with me as I need more in other places - lots more. Sorry no photo but got a digital in Sept. so next year I'll have photos of the garden.

I think there's nothing lovelier or easier than C persicifolia. They come in blue or white and are usually single but doubles can be found. They will self seed but aren't a nuisance. My garden wouldn't be complete without this wonderful plant.
