Always a big ambition for me living in NZ was to be able to grow the beautiful tropical flowers I have seen on my travels. So two weeks into my new garden, which is very much a blank canvas of bushes and trees, which I get to paint with pretty flowers. I came home from work tonight, to be greeted with this biggest smiling beautiful face on the hibiscus I bought at the weekend. She really brightened my day, my first flower in the new garden and what a cracker; nearly as big as my own face:

Very nice ponga.
unfortunately a bit more warm than I think we are, in south auckland.
Is it a fijian or a Hawaiian hybrid, do you know. I know that the fijians are more cool tolerant than hawaiian types.
But then the hawaiiansare more colourful, in my humble opinion.
