While we had 70-degree weather a couple of days ago, this morning's temperature was 18F. No snow on the ground, so the garden looks very brown and unkempt. I have two spots I want to take photos of over the year. When we have snow again, I'll take another photo of both locations. I will probably be adding/substracting plants from both areas during the growing season--as is the gardener's prerogative. Looking northwest, facing up the hill.
Facing southwest, down the hill.

A beautiful blue sky you have today! We still have snow, but I keep looking for signs of aquilegias and foxgloves anyway. Silly moi. I hope you have more gardening time this year!

We had one day of that gorgeous weather also - not as warm as you, though.

I forgot about photos for April, but here is one for May--looking northwest, up the hill: January
May - just a lot of green. The white is Iberis and other flowers are columbine. The grass needs mowed, the bed needs edged, and it still looks unkempt! I think I need some garden design lessons. I'm a buy-and-plop gardener!

Looks like fun to me! Lots of interesting things taking shape, but I must confess, I, too, am a "plopper". I don't seem to have a good "minds eye" when trying to figure out where to put something. I inevitably end up having to move it because it's too tall, too short, too wide, or better suited somewhere else - thus my favorite saying, "Next year". Gee, if only that next year things would work out!

Thanks, Leslie. It's time to take a June 15 photo--maybe tomorrow. At least from a distance you can't see all the disfigured leaves that have been destroyed by bugs! Such is a gardener's life!

June - I'm much happier with a June garden than with a January one, even though it is still a bit unkempt!
