Thought I would share another progressive series I have of the front flower garden my wife tried out last year. This one is a little more interesting I hope than my last post.

Late Winter.. and nothing but mulch.

Early Spring.. and the first bulbs appear (crocus)

Mid Spring.. and the daffodils take over (& removed ugly plastic border around the garden)

Early Summer.. and the bulbs are passed their prime, the perrenials begin to take over

Late Summer.. rudbeckia, echinacea, obedient plant flowering

Fall.. and all the blooms are spent. We need to find some good fall flowering plants

Early Winter.. and the small shrub (name i don't recall) bears it's fruit

Any comments welcomed.

Sorry I'm so late to reply... I'm just now getting around to browsing this particular gallery. I like your combination of fall flowers, especially with the white Obedient Plant. I might have to try that plant myself, even if it is supposedly invasive. Did you ever remember the name of your winter shrub with the bright red berries? That is a fantastic splash of color amid all of the winter gloom. I could use something like that around here. I enjoyed your "From Dirt to Dirt" post, too. The tulips are lovely.

It's fun, isn't Andy, to watch our gardens progress and knowing they will probably never be static as we note many items we want to add here or there. You're off to a fine start!
