I think you guys call em weed wackers,a reel of spinning cord on a long handle. We need to get a new one and was thinking of getting a cordless one as I hate wires, and can't afford a petrol one. Boy thoughts?

Yep weed wacker or whipper snipper.

I like to think of myself as a lady (for sure not a boy, LOL) but I was thinking perhaps you could pick one up second hand at a yard sale...I think you refer to these as "tag sales"? I didn't realize you could get a cordless. Do you mean re-chargeable??? If so I think I'd love one of those as well, but wouldn't think they'd be much less expensive then the fuel ones.

Love your profile pic by the way.

Have a great day.

I'm for everything cordless. I bought a battery-driven lawn mower last year and I still consider it one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. Not having to deal with wires reduces the time and general unpleasantness connected with the job of mowing the lawn by half!

So as for the cordless strimmer, I'd say yes, definitely!

I borrowed my neighbour's once and it worked just fine. They only last up to 30-45 mins so as long as your garden can be done within that time, I say go for it!

Hi again,

I called Home Depot today, and they sell a Black and Decker 18 volt, 12 inch cordless trimmer for 119.00 CAD. You can order on line as well.

From what I've read, it received positive reviews and comes with two batteries, so you always have one on hand ready to go :)

Have a great day!
