I bought about 7 plants a few weeks ago, and they were fine until this week. They received about 5-6 hours of direct sunlight, fertilizer every 10 days. Once a day, they were watered generously because of the heat, and all of a sudden they appear to be dying, with drooping and yellowing leaves. I can't understand why they'd all go bad suddenly when they were doing so well. I asked the nursery what could be the matter, and they said I must be over watering them. Can that happen? Advice from periwinkle experts would be much appreciated =)

Overwatering was my first though. I know you're in a hot area, but they are a heat loving plant. I think everyday watering might be too much unless they wilt each day without it. I'd go with the advice from your nursery experts. They should know :-)

Do you have slugs in your area? They attack the roots. Otherwise, I'd agree with Suzy about the water unless the soil is very well drained.

Suzyqt, I've started watering them less. They are still in the same condition. Here's hoping they will recover soon=) Uh oh Lovinlife, yes, we do have slugs. So do slugs go under the soil then, in order to attack the roots? I've only seen them on the surface though, never come across one while digging.

Well, I'm not an authority on slugs, but it's my understanding they do attack the roots. I do hope you can save your periwinkles. Keep us posted, ok?
