Uk time January 27th 3pm Snow started been forecasting this since weekend and its meant to get worse. Shall see what night brings when we wake up in the morning. Shall have to dig ourselves out well at least make a path. One thing every garden is the same pure white very pretty but very cold. Oh how I long for the spring days to arrive then plenty to do in the garden . First thing will be to give greenhouses a good clean with J/Fluid and then get the power washer on it then will be ready for my fuchsias and seeds well I guess be ready to pot up by then. Tubs will be at their best with all their spring bulbs. Feb a short month and then by March nights will be getting lighter. Saw first baby lambs 2 wks ago when I went to a farm for a bag of potatoes. |

Well have I been busy today, even though we still have snow been a thaw on today and blue sky everywhere did not even snow but still cold. I walked into town from my house which is around two miles downhill all the way coming back on snow paths uphill slows you down but great exercise. After lunch I went into my conservatory and the sun was streaming in and was like being in a heated greenhouse. Boy was I busy took 48 geranium cuttings and put into cell trays to root. Also cuttings of begonia and mother of thousands. Potted up tamworth Fuchsias and lye's unique from cell pot to two inch pots. I really felt Spring is finally with us looking out from the window with the sun shining. So I finally achieved getting some of my cuttings done today. Feeling my finger joints a bit sore maybe an age thing so hope not. |

This is the stage my Fuchsia Tamworth,Lye's Unique are. I cut them down in the Autumn 2003 and have just been giving a little water as not to let them dry out completley. Each month I will take another photo and add to my diary and by June month should have some beautiful blooms on my fuchsias. Another blue sky a complete change from Wed 28/01/2004 snow blizzards complete white out. Today 30/01/2004 no snow just heavy rain.
