15/02/2004 Been a lovely day today first chance to get into borders and pick up some of he old leaves . Cut back hardy fuchsias to base. Clematis they also had a haircut start of new shoots . Spring must be hear. Camelia took off fleece she has also started to produce some new buds. Plenty to do in the garden now hoping it stays dry all week so give borders a good hoe. Feel I have achieved something today in the garden. A neighbour is going to split a clump of double snowdrops. I am sure I will find a space .If its nice tomorrow going to make a start on cleaning out one of my greenhouses as I soon will need outside space for my plug plants. Till next time diary. |

16thFeb Another busy day today sowing flower seeds in propagtor and took more fuchsia cuttings. Lovely day today mild weather managed to gather some of the leaves in the borders. Have to get something for these cats. What a mess they have been making in the borders. Hopefully by the end of the season shall have managed to stop them. Bought a canna lily bulb today to plant not sure whether to put in a tub or in the border.

Spring has sprung I think for the past 3days beautiful sunshine and lovely blue sky. Made a start tidying greenhouse. Planted lily bulbs in border and my tubs. Yesterday I planted my spotted laurel into a tube with miniture daffodil bulbs when buds open I am sure it will blend well. At last got a plant that cats don't like. This is the test ,now potted in my border lets see if the night cat prowler diggs my garden or leaves well alone.

Was looking forward to the snowdrop walk at the House of Dun but due to weather condition yes SNOW 28/02/2004 it has been cancelled . Its a true saying March can come in like a lion and go out like a lamb . Although its a lovely blue sky lets see what we can do I think wrap up and go for a walk locally. |
