sorry Lisa |
LOL! Me, too, but I'm sure she'll be ROFLHAO by the time she gets this far. |

When do we start?!!! I am up for anything at this point!
LOL
I see how you are...wait until I am gone then attack (I never said you were dumb. If I wasn't such an [OoGBoO], I might be able to think of something smart to do too!) LOL
I don't think you are sorry; I think you are proud of your hijacking self! lol
You know I am! |

Sure, take the easy way out! LOL
Me too. I miss this place all the time---is that good or bad?!
Better than earlier this week :) I am actually excited b/c I am only working a couple of hours tomorrow morning & then will get ready to travel to my aunt's (out of town) to help her get ready to cater an even tomorrow night. I took off work Friday (morning only) so I wouldn't have to rush home Thursday night if I didn't feel like it. I enjoy helping her cater events & I can't wait. I like the fast-paced work. You know it is fast pace when you LOVE food & don't even have time to stop & eat it (until all the work is done & the event is over...we get to eat anything left over...yes, it's the best part! LOL) This is my aunt I did landscape work for last year...I will need to check up on it to see how everything is doing & to get more ideas on what to do when I go back to work in her yard this year :) |

Monday, January 28, 2008 Went to basketball tonight & stopped at the grocery on the way home for a couple of items. Went home & made a carrot cake recipe in the new Taste of Home magazine I got. I didn't care for the cake myself (tasted like oil--afterall, it called for a cup!). The icing was a different story...I ended up eating the leftover icing by itself! I must have weird taste buds b/c my co-workers must have liked the cake, as it disappeared quickly (unless they just ate the icing, lol). Tuesday, January 29, 2008 The rain started. I dug out my miniature greenhouse from the basement & set it outside in the rain to wash the dust off the plastic. Got my seed starter cups/containers out & dug out the containers of soil. Went to the store to pick up some Jiffy discs. I debated on using them this year. They didn't work out well last year, but they did do good the first year I tried them. Sigh. I'll try them one more time. Cleared out an area by the window in the front room in the apt. downstairs and put a sheet down for the greenhouse to set on.} Made the carrot cupcake/muffin recipe tonight. These are much better than the cake. C S O had given me 4 cans of the Easy Cheese Cream Cheese so I used that for the topping (since I ate all of the icing that was left over from the cake last night) Wednesday, January 30, 2008 Brought a muffin in for C S O to try. She said it was delicious. She is a good person to have try out food b/c I know she will tell me if it was not good or if she thought it would be better with/without some ingredients (basically she would tell me the truth). She thought coconut would have been good in the cake. I think I might try to make that cake again one day and only put in half the oil, add coconut and more pineapple/juice to make up for the oil. One thing about that cake was it sure was moist. Thursday, January 31, 2008 Wrote out my list of things I need to pack & take with me this morning. I will be rushing once I leave work this morning. So much to do & so little time! I can't wait to get to P's! It will be non-stop work from there on, what fun! I might even get to help clean up the hall when we are done & make some more money. I hope I still have the energy left that late tonight. The very best part of it all is that I am now off work ALL DAY tomorrow!! I could use the long weekend and break from work. It will be nice to not have to worry about rushing home tomorrow morning. It is supposed to be rain/sleet/snow mix--yuck! |
| Flowerfreak Posted on Friday, February 01, 2008 - 12:44 am: | |
Well I have no idea what time it is (duh [OoGBoO],look at the bottom of the computer screen). It is 12:26. I am at P's house. I just got done doing dishes & cleaning the kitchen. What a long day it has been! The night seemed to fly by for once. The other strange thing is that I am the last one up. I am never the last one up. Hmmm...I did take an energy drink late this afternoon & I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I also have a nice huge quiet house and a computer all to myself to catch up some on GB. I don't think I will be doing a whole lot of typing or chatting since my hands feel like sandpaper from doing so many dishes tonight. It was raining pretty good all the while I helped carry everything from the kitchen to the vehicles & back into P's house. My legs feel like they are going to fall off. I knew to expect the feeling, but it doesn't mean I looked forward to it. I thought I might have lost my catering touch, but I did really good if I do say so myself. Tonight I made myself just keep going & finding work while others stopped to sit down for a few minutes during the very rare slow time. I can't decide if I want to stay up awhile longer or go to bed. I will be up & at em' again in the morning (if I ever wake up, that is)! P said there was some of my brother's homemade (and very very good) strawberry wine here. She said my family thinks I hid it in her cooler when she catered my other brother's wedding. Who, me?! Yes, I definitely had a bit to drink that night. I don't really even remembering having any of his wine. Why am I admitting to this right now anyway?!! I think I am getting a bit slap happy. I should probably quit typing, go get something to drink (hmm..wine maybe?!), kick back & read a lot of the threads on here that I have been missing :) It has been a long, tiring, but fun day. The best part is....drumroll.....I don't have to go into work tomorrow!!! |
| Growit Posted on Sunday, February 03, 2008 - 06:28 am: | |
Oh definitely good but I am not exactly unbiased. I feel as if my mates have been having a good time without me if i don't get on here enough.
LOL! I remember that from waitressing many years ago when the kids were still little. Used to do weddings receptions in the evening. Just too exhausted to eat anything by the time I could.
See there, those two things cancel each other out so eating the icing was ok, hehe.
Is there ever enough?!
HURRAH!
I hope you went to bed and made the most of getting some time off.
No idea but makes for fun reading lol!
Double hurrah! |
You have been a very busy bee. You can borrow the busy bee that I posted in Moira's journal the other day. I think its eyes probably look about like yours did. LOL! |
| Flowerfreak Posted on Tuesday, February 05, 2008 - 07:31 am: | |
I know what you mean, same here
Thanks Moira, I feel much better now & not guilty
I must have missed that bee (or else had an [OoGBoO] moment & forgot)! |

Saturday, February 2, 2008 Cleaned house today–pretty much an early spring cleaning. Made some apple pancakes for breakfast. Made a cherry cheesecake since I have cream cheese (left from the holiday shopping) that will be expiring soon. Steamed a bunch of veggies to take to work this week. Watched UK beat GA :) Went to Edwrd’s. for dinner...that was like eating at a comedy club! They had a fund raiser on the local television station. It was like watching a yard sale on tv. I almost felt sorry for them, as they must not have been able to get enough companies & individuals to donate items so they took stuff they were going to use in a yard sale to auction off. It is supposed to be a FUND RAISER and they have people only “upping” their bids by like a dollar. It was still funny to watch. Played card & golf games on the computer. Went to bed. Sunday, February 3, 2008 Slept in a little later than normal. Went to church. It is pretty nice out today (upper 40's and sunny)--nice enough to go for a walk. Took about a 20 minute walk & stopped & bought a paper on the way home. I walked around the back yard & collect the branches that have been collecting there from the tree that needs to be cut down. I walked around to check out all the garden beds & to check all the bulbs that are starting to sprout up. How exciting! What is it about the first green leaves you see peek out of the dirt?! It is even better to see that the bulbs I just planted at the end of last year have made it. I cannot wait for the blooms! I also finally remembered to turn the “compost” pile. The spirea I tried to save from Central isn’t looking too good. It was doing great in the fall. I wonder what happened? I decided to go to SK’s & make more hunting test loads for 44mag. Tried those over the chrony. They did very, very well as far as consistent readings. Shot my bow for awhile. BH called me 2x this morning & just asked me to call her. I thought I knew what it was about. I was nervous about calling her back b/c I was going to "put my foot down" this time. I was sort of right about what she wanted. She fired the other girl (she was getting ready to quit anyway). She wanted to know if I just wanted to clean by myself from now on (duh, I only told her the last time that I would rather do it myself & get paid the full amount to make it work my every Friday). She tried to say that I would get my normal pay, plus the (lesser) pay that the other girl was getting. (Putting my foot down here) I told her that I wanted the full pay! She asked what I meant (she knew darn well what I meant). I told her my pay DOUBLED= what they were paying myself & her daughter (when she was cleaning with me) in the first place! BH did not hesitate and said she would pay me the full amount. I was glad I got the guts to at least stick up and say that. I was going to quit the job all together if not. Her & her husband just pocket any extra $ they can. I can’t believe she had the nerve to try to pull that one on me. I told her that I feel like I do a good job, and am very reliable by showing up every week for the past “X” amount of years. She agreed. I guess we’ll see how it goes. I guess I won’t get any extra for doing any extras though. If they try to keep adding extras in, I might have to say something. Apparently, that is why they fired the other girl when she got upset last week when CH said we’d have to wipe the glass cases down. The girl had every right to be pissed. For what she is getting paid, I would be mad too. As far as dieting goes, I’ve done pretty good today-- but the day isn’t over yet (and there is still a whole cheesecake in the fridge)! Typed this up & filled out some rebate forms while watching the Super Bowl. I also filed my coupons. Survived "The Diet" today/tonight by eating a grilled chicken salad for dinner & having only one piece of cheesecake for dessert....oh, and the last 2 Oreos (of this pack anyway)! Monday, February 4, 2008 Ugh, what a gloomy day. The temperature is nice, but it is cloudy. I mailed my rebate forms this morning. I thought I would be able to take ½ day off today, but it isn’t going to work out. I wanted to get started on my seed list & getting cell packs ready. Maybe I’ll try to do that tomorrow since I have a game tonight. DS called. “Bubba” apparently hurt himself. DS has to pick him up to move him around or take him outside to go to the bathroom. He said he just sits there, ears down, no tail wagging...he walks a little, but won’t run. Vet was double booked today but can see him 1st thing in the morning. DS said he also winces when DS puts any pressure on his back behind his collar. Vet thinks he may have hurt his back :( Poor bubba. Hope he heals soon. He lives for the outdoors & to fetch. I was telling DS it is ashame neither of us duck hunts. We’d have the perfect dog for retrieving. I am ready to leave work...1 ½ hours left to go :( I am already caught up from taking off 2 days last week–that is how slow things are. I just wrote another paragraph about work but decided to delete it. I am sure it was all something I have already mentioned in here somewhere. It just gets frustrating & harder & harder to come into work. Funny how these days I was wishing I took the scholarship offer I had years (and years and years. LOL) ago. I could only imagine where I would be right now in my life if I had finished college. I have been thinking I really need to go back, but I’m not sure I want to try to scrounge up the money to pay for school when I still don’t know what I want to major in anymore (the reason I quit going to begin with). Sigh. What to do? Sigh. I’ve thought about some sort of Horticulture classes, but am not exactly sure what the college here offers. I guess I will have to look into that. Another "college roadblock": the whole thing where I can only take a couple more classes before I am required to take Speech before I can take anymore classes. Yuck. I’d rather pay my way out of that class. I am definitely not a speaker. I hate it. I know I could do it if I had to, but I would be REALLY AWFUL, not to mentioned red-faced the whole time. I had just started another paragraph about work & deleted it as well. No sense in wasting space on here for that. Enough already! I just want to go home and walk around the yard & check out all the new sprouting. I will have to work on my seed chart again tonight. I’ve already started to add the seeds my GB sent me. I just need to see if I have anything I collected that may be worth trying. I doubt the ones I have will even sprout, but I’d hate to throw them out when they would have sprouted so I will have to at least try some. I better stop for now. I might start typing a book...just like... I think I will make some R. tea & work on my Spanish flash cards until it is time to go home. Stopped at the store on the way home from bball. Did 2 loads of laundry & made 3 cakes. Made a carrot cake for NF & DS. Split it in half & put in aluminum lined tins which worked out really good. Now I don’t have to wait a year to get my containers/pans back, lol. Made a devil’s food cake & a watermelon cake to bring to work. Not that I feel like being nice to the people at work, but because K H gave me a bunch of cake mixes that I need to start using up. I didn’t decorate the watermelon cake to look like a watermelon (as in the picture with the recipe) b/c I was too tired & I think I will save that idea for warmer weather...where it would be more appropriate. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 Ugh, what a gloomy day again. It is rather warm & therefore, we are due for some heavy thunderstorms. There has been a lot of lightning in the distance this morning and there is a constant wind, but not heavy. I checked the basement for leaks this morning. The back corner seems to be the worst again. I need to get another piece of pipe to run the downspout out further into the yard. That should really help. I broke another box fan this morning. It fell over when I went turned around to plug it in & it broke a blade. Now I have a "walking" fan; it rattles, wobbles & walks when I turn it on. Stopped by N F's & dropped off carrot cake on my way into work. Well maybe I shall get to leave work early today to go home & finally get everything ready for seed starting. I still have to complete my seed chart, but I need the internet for that so I guess I will have to stop by mom's first & use the computer. I will have to refrain from logging onto GB so I get my "work" done...yeah, right!
 |
Good for you, sticking up for yourself and demanding to get what you are worth! I am glad that worked out.
LOL! You are my soul sister. LOL!
Like Moira, right? LOL!
I was wondering. HAHAHA!

People will always pay more if resigning is threatened lol! Could you stop making so many cakes. I am trying to shift over a stone (American speak 14lbs) that I have put on over Christmas. You keep making me hungry! |

Sorry. I will stop making them only if I start eating them ;-) I have gained 20lbs in about a year. I refused to buy any more clothes so I HAVE to loose some weight! |
