Miracle growed the whole garden, finished it up this morning..
Roses are starting into another full on bloom.
Watered it all well before I started.
So today I can start with the weed patrol again..
Also got rid of a few more spindly roses that just weren't doing what they are suppose to do.
These were all cheap roses, the 1.99 sale stuff, some did just fine after 3 years, some didn't..
So no more wasting water and fertilizer on them..
Very heavy overcast today, it may not burn off. Good day to be weeding...

Today I rescued all the gerbera daisies out of the front Rose bed. Moved them to a bed where they can be seen.. Most were is full bloom, but no one could see them...I watered them in real well, cut off all the blooms and they are doing just fine. Gerbera are very determined plants.. There may be a few more to get out of there, I just need to let the thorn wounds heal before tackling it again..
Beautiful day today.

The June Gloom cleared fairly early this morning, So it was warmer, but also a nice steady strong breeze. Had to watch where I put the sprinklers or the water would blow elsewhere from where I wanted it..
The ants are many in the garden, don't remember this many before. They are on the constant move with me watering where they are nesting..
Along with lot of bees, and spiders all working the garden..In fact it is quit the *God's little half acre of bug - critter & bird haven* here.
The Wrens or what ever the cute little birds were that were nesting have done their deal and are gone from the nest now.. But I do see them working the garden to catch flying insects..
Now if only the Crows would move on, they are so annoying.. They killed another rabbit yesterday & were fighting over it out in the road most of the day..So loud!!!!
Time to get a shower, then to sit out to enjoy all my work...

Yesterday was a good day in the garden, I got the roses moved that I had been putting off for so long. I know they will do so much better in sun, as they were in total shade.
Planted Impatience all over that area for now.
I put Climbing Colette by the old wooden ladder, just need to move a clematis over to the ladder now. I have just the one that will go with Colette just fine.

Marine layer is in quit deep today, good day to finish up moving a few more roses, & a few other plants.
Then to finish up with watering.
Dahlias need to be cut back, they are looking so tired spent and messy.
Sure were pretty while in bloom and fresh.
So far all the transplants have done very well.

Up early this morning, to get out in the garden and get all the debris picked up.. Going to have company later on and would not like to have them tripping over garden cuttings.
Spent some time editing photos and photo folders later in the morning, I lost count of the how many photos I deleted.
I finally figured out how to do this, by trial and err...So Had to keep doing it so I will remember.
These new *things* are not my forte!
Oriental Lilies are bursting forth, They are so pretty, and smell so good...

Seems a bit cooler this morning, Yet the garden is just as dry as can be, with the heat there is also a strong breeze most all day, it drys out the garden so fast.
I manages to salvage 3 Austin roses out of the front bank rose bed the gopher was working..It got the 6 roses, so I was quick to dig these out ..I have them soaking in water with Vit B, will get them relocated today, with chicken wire around them...
My DDIL and babies will leave today, It will be quite again...
Have girlfriend coming in for a few days later on today.
I am enjoying the summer...
I don't have much time for GB other than take a look when I have a min. Then half the time something isn't working right on GB..........Ahhhhh Summer time!

Hot hot hot here, garden suffering,, Nothing I can do about it...Got the roses transplanted, so far they are looking rather perky... Hope they will do OK..
Also the rose "Singing in the rain" that the gopher got, has a few....very few...roots left on it,
So I replanted it, in hopes it will take again..(hope hope hope)
Very busy with company here, love the fact I have people to cook for...Sweet Summer time..It is so Fine!.

I am starting to sound like a broken record...It is HOT Hot Hot...No working in the garden during the day, it has to be early morning or late late afternoon evenings..
The Sunflowers are loving it....
Had a friend (Dennis) come by this morning to help me track down gopher runs and put traps in...wasn't 30 mins and 3 were in the traps. :):) I could not reset them..They are old traps and I just can not get them set..He will come by later this evening and reset them...:):)
Today was opening day for Del Mar...Hat Day...I really enjoy this race meet, I plan on going a few times this season..
To have fun and maybe wager a Dollar or two...Also fun to get out my fancy hats to wear...

A Skunk family has moved into the neighbors pool shed, WOW are they ever stinking up the area...The neighbors have called an exterminator to come out to relocated them..In the mean time..
Whoa Nellie!!! Talk about nauseating!!!!
I would hate to be the poor guy having to get them out of there...
Got a notice from the City today, we have to conserve water starting NOW!
Going to be interesting, of what I can get rid of to help conserve water..I really have been thinking of getting the garden down to less..It is more than I can take care of any more anyway..Maybe this is just the thing to get me motivated in that direction...
Maybe I should have left the gophers to their own doings...........Ah what to do what to do????

Thankfully the Skunk family is gone, the air quality has improved greatly..whew!!!!
Very foggy this morning, yesterday the clouds built up in the East so magnificently, alas we did not get any rain, it was just a tease.
Have lots of birds moving through the garden now. What a charming lot they are. I have seen bird this season I have never seen here before.
Spiders are doing their webbing thing, on my morning garden check this AM I was covered in webs in no time..
So much ant movement every where in the garden more so than usual...
The gophers I have about given up on, there is no stopping them, they have ferocious appetites, roses seem to be the *flavor of the month* for them..Yet they eat any thing that is in their run path..
The Japanese Anemone, are loaded with buds, each planting of them have spread into huge mounds. They are going to bloom early also, should be a very pretty sight.
Mother nature has something in store for us up her sleeve.
All signs of any early Autumn...
