This is the old time arrangement and a Spring flower arrangement in a box for our local spring show which is on Saturday. A shame the community has not supported the Spring show a small turn out of blooms and plants. I have entered the Summer show for the past 3yrs first time for the Spring but I had flowers to share with the public and it helps to give pleasure to others. So today diary yes I was busy with getting my arrangements ready and gathering flowers I bought a plastic trug today and a water but for the garden as we have been told it could be wet for teh rest of the season hope not. |

Bought new compost for hanging basket and tubs on Thursday 22ndApril. Bullrush compost contains oais and a wetting agent. the nursery that we visited with our fuchsia society uses it all the to pot up their hanging baskets. I am going to use it this summer and monitor which is best multi-purpose or compost with wetting agent. |

Sunday 16th May another hot day since Thursday been very busy in the garden nearly finished weeding all the borders. High 20s degc again today and first BQ of the season hopefully many more to came. Hanging baskets all potted up and now out in their final hanging position even although should really wait untill beginning of June before outside just incase we get frosts it can happen not unheard of weather can change just as quick. I like this time of year when you can be outdoors most of the day.It can be going for a long walk cycling or even just the pleasure of sitting reading a book outdoors once all chores are done inside and out.But you are indoors all through the winter and lovely to get outside. By Diary untill another day must take some photos of the garden and post to GB. |

21stMay The day after the hail storm what a disaster a lot ruined in the garden. Specially tubs had left on the deck to give them a foilage feed they certainly got a feed alright.Hail not quite the size of golfballs but certainly big enough to do damage to young plants. I did swither about putting them on the deck even dads baskets and tubs at front of house all ruined . Have tried to salvage buy cutting back.Hopefully as this is still the growing season plants should burst into growth again well some will. But here in scotland really should not put plants outside before the Month of June for fear of all frosts. Well I took a chance as we have had a good spell of weather since last weekend. Certainly disheartening. Borders are now very wet too wet to tidy up the borders. |
