Ah ha! I think I've got it :). I also think I have a whole bunch of blind dahlias stored for next season. You have been very, very helpful Bernie. Thank you.

Great photo Bernie. If I am at all in doubt about an eye/eyes on a tuber I label it with a "? Eye ?" mark so I don't spend endless weeks hoping and praying some growth will show up the following Spring. I have about only 30 clumps left to dig and am oh so tired of this end- of-the-season process. I simply cannot imagine how larger dahlia growers do it. But of course, I'll be adding new varieties next year!
