Nice pictures Eileen. I'm not sure that is Chilson's Pride. The color is close but CP doesn't have split ends.
Check out this sight.

Beautiful flowers Eileen. I love the ball dahlias in any color. And Vista Lindsay I'd just want to pet!

My Chilson's Pride has blunt tips, but the same colors as in your photo. I googled several sites and it looks like the vote is split, on split tips. Maybe they split as the flower ages? I cut mine before they get a chance.

Hi, Poochella, I went back to check my other flowers on Chilson's Pride and all had splits. But the picture I took was of a full bloom, older than some and perhaps fading. Some new blooms are almost white.
Whatever, I like it and that's what counts.

Linda, Chilson's Pride as the bush gets older, is starting to have blooms with fewer splits and more like the SI picture.

That you like it is indeed what counts, Eileen, and we can't fault your taste! I noticed in the past week or 10 days, as the sun wanes, the pigments in the lighter flowers is really fading. Chilson's Pride are barely pink and look mostly white from a distance. Same for Bracken Ballerina. Brookside Snowball looks good though!

I am over denying that summer is still here: it's cold and wet and it's Fall.

Whimper, Fall? October is approaching. We probably frost sooner than the NW coast, so I'll wait until frost. Inca Trident and a few others haven't decided to bloom yet, but have teasing buds.
Agreed Pooch, Brookside Snowball hasn't changed color
