I've been lax in posting photos, so here are some from the 2007 gardens: A really pretty deep lavender with yellow lit up center. Wyn's Golden Glow. It got bent down by this week's heavy rain, but it's still beautiful. More on the way.
A fiery red medium size cactus on strong stems. Hy Lobster.
Sturdy medium bright yellow semicactus Clearview Irene.
A favorite last year and this: orange with red reverse and a great cutflower- Hy Lustre
Jax Char- can't get this 6 inch neon bright purple on digital. It is just a beautiful flower on a big robust plant.
Hy Mallow- great medium purple ball. Downham Royal- Rich deepest purple miniball. It looks reddish here, it's a definite dark purple. Good enough to eat! Another new favorite. I think I get 40 new favorites choices a year, right? This is another one.
Chimacum Kathleen a very nice pink and yellow waterlily, almost a peachy pink here. Lots of flowers about 6 inches across.
Another nice waterlily: Taratahi Sunrise. Absolutely golden. I love the waterlilies!
CG Coral- a great little cactus. It took me a while to warm up to this one, but now it's kicking out flowers like crazy and I'm having hot flashes over it. LOL Really a wonderful color in a smaller 4 inch bloom.
Coral Frills- this was one of the first to bloom, and hasn't stopped since. Tall plants for me at 6-7 ft to the tippy top of flowers. Great color- coral outside and a bit paler golden pink in the center. The 6 inch flowers have just a bit of splitting on the tips, hence the name.
Barbarry Fusillier falls somewhere between purple and pink, nice flower, sick plant though from day one with spotty foliage so I guess I have to dump the tubers :( See the foliage to follow and tell me what you think.
Foliage on Barbarry Fusillier: the new growth looks good for a few days and then invariably fall into the yellowed/rust spotted leaves you see here. It has done this since the plant was less than a foot tall. Virus?
Pretty in Pink! Another on the list of new favorites. This one has kicked out hot pink blooms from the get-go and shows no signs of letting up. It's my favorite hot pink for 07.
Sea Oro- tall towering monster second year in a row. The golden orange color is great. Stems are sturdy enough to hold up the 8 inch flowers.
Wyn's Autumn Reverie- wonderful rich golden orange for fall. Great stems.
Wyn's King Salmon! I waited 2 years for this one. The photo does it no justice. I took it to work with me so I could enjoy it. Unfortunately, it was eclipsed in the garden by the brutishly tall Barbarry Ball so hasn't had the sun it should.
Yuukyu- a white ID about 6 inches all around. This is one Bernie grew and how I wish he were here to see it.
Not new, but my longtime favorite: Cherrio. It's the brightest 4-6 inch fuschia with cute white tips. I can't help but smile when I see this one.
A demure little Chanel Tatiana- 3 inches across in palest white with lavender. This has very upright growth habits and makes lots of flowers.
Another small favorite this year: French Doll weighing in at 3-4 inches across in a dusky pink on yellow. Lots of flowers and bloomed early.
Golden Egg, a wee waterlily in egg yolk gold. Again lots of flowers and upright growth of stems. Hale Bopp- full of fluffy bright yellow BB laciniated blooms.
Hybridized in 1935 according to Heirloom Dahlias. That makes Hockley Maroon 72 years old and ticking. Wonderfully rich darker red miniblooms of 2-3 inches across.
I have to stop with a favorite new lavender: Lavid. It is a multibloomer in flushes of wonderful lavender blooms. About 5 inches across here. Really nice.
There are more to follow, but it took me a while to figure out how to post the photos. Plantlady, I should have reread the photo-posting instructions I sent you! I have to bypass any pre-scripted codes Photobucket now provides, so it's more of an effort, but not bad.

Beautiful dahlias! How big is the Hy Lustre bloom across? Bernie gave me tubers of Yuukyu last year. Your bloom is what I hope to see someday. It has been slow to bloom this year so far, but we have a month to go.

Nice, Poochella! The first one is Wyn's Garden Glow. I could forward your photo posting instructions back to you- I kept them 'cos I can't remember anything! :) I couldn't get all the pictures- the first 6 came on perfectly. Then I got the dreaded red X until Wyn's Pretty in Pink & then more X's until Golden Egg. Is it just me or has the dreaded X hit everyone???}

OK - so now I get all the pictures after I posted the last message. HUH? I'l never figure out the "Confuser"! That foliage doesn't look good. Try getting some Iron Chelate 7% & giving the plant a good dose of it- it might just be that it's not able to use the micro-nutrients in the soil as well as it should. Or have you checked for spider mites- they suck all the color out of the leaves. If there's no bugs & the iron doesn't snap it out of it in a few days I'd pull it out before it spreads to other plants- the husband would have pulled it out long ago but sometimes I can beat him to the punch & fix it before he gets his hands on it!!

Pooch - you are such a slacker ;) Voting for Chimacum Kathleen and King Salmon. Can't deny I love the form of Chanel Tatiana, might be too small for me. Sea Oro is a monster isn't it.

Great photos, Pooch! I love the waterlilies too - especially if they don't grow too tall. What is the height like on French Doll, Golden Egg and Chanel Tatiana?

I love that Yuukyu, nice medium large white. Eileen, Hy Lustre is 4 inches across/deep and is one of my best bloomers. It's always tall here- 5 ft, but many of mine are, as they struggle for sun. Plantlady, I saw the dreaded red X many times over trying to post photos! Thanks for the advice on my sick plant. I suspect it's the plant itself, haven't seen spider mites/webs and no other plants are looking this way. These are two tubers planted in separate beds 100 ft apart and they both behaved the same way from day one. Only one other plant shows these symptoms and that came from the same vendor. I will pull them all so as not to risk spreading whatever it is. Bummer. Great color on that one. Al, I'm just too busy to post everywhere! Chanel Tatiana is a wee little dahlia but it's so cute. I said 3 inches but it may be 2.5" nowdays in shorter daylight. Let's see what else is new: Puget Sparkle a bright red small up to 4 inches on a bushy bush! 4 ft tall 4 ft wide.
Nescio, courtesy of BigCityAl! Another favorite new cutting flower in a bright red minibloom only 2 inches across but rarely stops sending out flowers.
Another new zinger I really like: Salsa Picante. Absolutely glowing red and golden orange, BB FD? Early shot because I couldn't believe the colors:
And fully opened here
Hy Mallow- nice tight ball of 3 inch size here. Dark lavender. 3.5 ft plant. No ladder required!
Karma Prospero- rock solid stems on a 3 ft plant. Nice pink blooms in BB size. This works well in a pot, no stake even required.
I never get tired of Keith H a nice waterlily. Kenora Canada, bright yellow B sized semicactus. Not an excess of flowers, but they have all been nice.
Anybody have a guess as to this imposter? BB LC Hot pink and white. It was to be Karma Fuschiana but this towers at 4+ ft and just isn't close to Fuschiana except in partial color! Any ideas? It's not Philothea.
How about this imposter: Supposed to be Jax Char, (the B sized neon purple ID) but out popped this wonderful small medium purple ball. Really a great flower and color, but I'd like an ID someday...
Nanna's Kiss- another new favorite in a peachy pink, BB SC. It gets much fuller than this and produces abundant flowers. A real pleasure to grow.
Here is Nanna's Kiss more fully open, but with the camera set to the wrong setting: it isn't that bright pink.
Onesta another nice little waterlily for cutting. Pinkish lavender color? Kind of right in between those two colors. Good stems.
Here's another bright one I have enjoyed: Park Record. Bloomed early and continuously sends out new blooms. A shorter plant at 2-2.5 ft.
One last one for tonight: Seduction- a similar flower to Lauren Michelle only slightly larger at 4-5 inches, taller at 4 ft and dark purple on white, vs lavender. Very nice for cutting.

Hi Susan, Golden Egg is barely 4 ft, French Doll 4 ft, and Chanel Tatiana is anybody's guess. One plant is barely a foot tall and blooming LOL and the other is buried in the 'pale patch' struggling for sun behind a monster Chilson's Pride towering at over 6 ft tall. That one is 5 ft tall. I think it was listed as a 4 footer. Here's a not so good photo of a single bloom. Very dainty.

Hi Al, sorry for the delay. These were shared from a Karma order from Mone. I am going to look at Van Bourgondien for matches, but I don't think it's Kenora Frills at all. Mine are a very hot pink. Every one that was supposed to be Karma Fuschiana was this laciniated one, and every one that was to be Sangria looks more like the white/lavender Haley Jane! Both are welcome here, so it's no loss for me. They looked like the typical little Karma tubers, so it's a very big mystery.

Eileen, your "Puff" is nice indeed. I really like my mystery BB LC PK but would rather call it something other than Mystery Pink LC! Thanks, Plantynut. There are many more that I haven't taken the time to post. That will come in wintertime, I suspect. Lovinlife, I don't know what to tell you. I could try to email you links to the photos. Or try hitting "refresh." I hate the dreaded red X as well.

I have to wait for a few picts. to load & then go back to the home page then back to this page & back & forth a quite a few times for all the picts. to load. It seems like dial-up gets it's mind boggled if you try to load too many at once. After a few time back & forth the dreaded XXX's are all pictures but it took about 45 min. for them all to load. I guess when you live out in the sticks & don't have DSL you gotta suffer but it really helps when only about 10 pictures are posted on each thread. Cory

To me, the foliage just looks like there has been too much moisture standing on the leaves. Just blame the rain gods and don't worry about it. If you are really concerned, just cut down the foliage and harvest the tubers.
