I collected seed last fall from a single red dahlia with dark stems..something like Bishops children. There was also a similar yellow variety nearby and perhaps another couple dahlias but I can't remember what kind. I started the seed this fall and was happy but surprised at what I got! Single bright pink with an yellow-orangish blush
And a double same color scheme
I'm looking forward to starting more from seed next year to see what surprises I find.

Those are really beautiful and must have been so enjoyable to watch bloom! I took a few seeds from daylilies this year which have sprouted...I'll be very interested to see how they turn out for next year! Anticipation is half the fun
