We went to the Fraser Valley Dahlia Society show last weekend- it was a really nice show. They changed their venue from an old mall to a nice community center. It was a really classy show. This is the AA sized bloom table- the biggest red one is Creve Coeur, the smaller red one to the left of it is Taum Sauk. The 2 big yellow ones are Wyn's Conquistador, the white one is Spike, the lavender one in front is Sir Alf Ramsey. The weird burgandy one is Wyn's Eeekk!! next to Spike.
The A sized ones on this table. The Burgandy one peeking into the picture is Spartacus, then lavender Vassio Megos, round yellow Edna C & golden Wyn's Sensation.
This was a knock yer sox off seedling from Dick Ambrose of the Camano dahlias. It was my favorite seedling at the show!
We won Best Triple AA in show with Wyn's Farmer John for the 4th show in a row!! Yeah!!
Our Wyn's Sensation won Best Triple A in show so we had a couple of really nice triples on the head table
These were 2 nice A sized dahlias entered by the Kuipers- Elsie Huston on the left & Walter Huston on the right
I'll have to do more later- have to go to a birthday dinner for the son-in-law!

I'm speechless. Those are incredible blooms. I don't know which is my favorite. I can't imagine blooms remaining so perfect in my yard.

I just cannot believe those blooms. Wyn's Farmer John would definitely be my favorite, with Wyn's Sensation and Elsie Huston running a *very* close second and third. Oh my goodness, now I have to buy more plants. What a stunning show, Cory. I also like Wyn's Eeekk!! Don't you feel like you've accomplished so much beauty?

Way to go Cory. I love my Wyn's Sensation. The stems are like rods.

I don't know if you have this posted anywhere, so I'm making sure everyone knows where to buy those dahlias: http://www.dahlias.net/htmbox/wynneslst95.htm (Hope I'm not breaking any rules here)

I have some Ambrose dahlias, looks like I'll have to Wynne, too. Nice going, thanks for the pictures. We, who don't show, have fun seeing your competitions.
Making my list, checking it twice...

I just saw a picture of Mary's Jomanda, the best in the FV show. Does it normally get that big? My Mary's Jomanda, new to me this year, is very small.

Mine are pretty big, but not quite that big. You get that by disbudding and keeping down the amount of blooms on a plant.

Eileen - the Mary's Jomanda looks bigger in the picture than it was in person- about the normal 4" in diameter.

Congratulations Cory! I thought the same thing when I saw that gigantic Mary's Jomanda photo. Good to hear it was normal sized or I'd have claimed a "doping scandal." I am very much looking forward to a visit to Wynne's patch of dahlia heaven on earth tomorrow. Please, let the weather cooperate! I know I'll be blown away by many of these awesome blooms. Camera is ready and idling... LOL Do you allow photos Cory?

I shall patiently wait until another year to see a larger Mary's Jomanda here. We will let the gal's flower get established. Dahlia growing is fun. Bernie gave me Kenora Amethyst about four years ago. It did well year one, then I just kept the sorry tubers as I couldn't bear to throw them away. This year? WOW! Tall, big beautiful blooms. So the lesson is don't give up. I am going to show Lady Marion your post, Pooch. Hope that is ok with you. She was so pleased to hear people are still reading their article on plastic or Saran wrapping for storage.
