Apart from my C. florida alba plena, or whatever it is called this week, which has been in flower on my front windowsill for about two months now....
the Roko Kolla which sulked all summer in the garden suddenly decided to perk up when I brought it into the garden room and is now covered in buds. The first flowers have just opened in time for the event.
Anybody else have any unusual Christmas blooms?

Oh my! What fun. Any blooms at all would be unusual for me! Maybe I can look forward to a few germinating seeds.

Do you only grow florida alba plena inside? I bought two last spring, kept them in the greenhouse until fall and then planted one outside and left one inside. So far fingers crossed, the one outside is doing wonderfully well, of course we're not through the winter yet. My Lansdowne Gem has two flowers but I haven't managed a picture. I know that doesn't sound impressive but its only been in the garden since late last spring and I'm very impressed with how well it is growing. I also noticed yesterday that I have a flower about to open on my oldest 'Niobe'. Silly thing doesn't realize its winter I guess.

Hallo everybody ! I am back again from Madeira. I certainly do not have any clematis flowering at home this early but on Madeira in the Gardens of Quinto de Palheiro the clematis grandiflora was very early this year and big flowerbuds (appr. 1 cm) were already present as shown on the following pictures. Roger brought pictures from these huge yellow flowers last August here on the forum.
I will bring som more information from Madeira later when more time is available.

Penny, no it's outside too but it looks as if I've lost the one which I had outside in a pot for years. As for the others, as you say, fingers crossed. My Red, which is probably LG, does not look happy but then I DID break half of the stems by mistake. Napaulensis is starting to flower so some pictures tomorrow if it's a nice day - today has been beautiful and I will post some pictures elsewhere - clear with beautiful light here.
