I call this guy buster, I am pretty sure he kicked out the other hb who used to rule the roost in the back yard. I say this because he perches on the same branch just a couple feet from the feeder, whereas the other male guarded from a tree on the other side of the fence about 25ft away. He let me get within four feet of him before taking off.
I see you hidding behind the tree! This is my feeder! Tzzk..tzzk...tzzk!
I see you with the camera too!
OK I guess you are harmless.

That last shot is awesome DW! You are so lucky to get a variety of hummers out there!! Thanks for sharing him...I love that fierce look-lol! They are such tough cookies for something so tiny.

Wonderful photographs!!! I just love how fiesty these little jewels are. Totally out of character with their delicate appearance.

Great little bird:-). I wish we had more varieties. My RTH's left about 4 days ago:-(. I will leave the feeders up for a couple of weeks so Diane's make it south safely;-). Tim:-)

LOL..no problem Tim. I'm used to being called Diane, as that is my sister's name. Our parents always mix us up as we look a lot alike. The male hummers have left here so things are a bit more peaceful with just the ladies gently buzzing about from flower to flower. Still time for some more photo opts! ;-)
