A few more photos of Cyclamen mirabile growing in the wild at various locations in southwest Turkey. Apologies for the quality of the photos - not as clear as most that appear on GB, but clear enough to just about do the job... The foliage of this species can be very attractive as the third photo shows. The last photo is of a very rare plant - pure white flowered C. mirabile (C. mirabile forma niveum). This was found at the penultimate site, on the penultimate day of a two week field trip. We had looked at thousands of the normal pink flowered C. mirabile prior to finding this rare form of the species.

What a find! And thanks for the other photographs too. I really enjoy seeing plants in their natural surrounding--it often gives me ideas of what to do with them. Is that dried annual grasses that they are coming up among?

Just beautiful! I agree about seeing plants..yes, and even animals, in their natural habitat. It is thrilling.
