This past spring these were acquired from T&T Seeds. They arrived as small well rooted plants and had gone onto grow and flower well. I harvested several seeds from Ruutel and Reiman had produced copious amounts of pollen. Come next year I just might venture into a bit of breeding work.

Wow, they are pretty. Two I could gladly add to my small but growing collection.

I just checked them both out on COW and see that Ruutel is a cross from Ernest Markham. I got some seeds from mine this year. Hope I get lucky enough to have them germinate (trying seeds for the first time) and be as pretty as this.

T&T's catalogue arrived today: Kullus is the one I ordered last year.

Marie, did your Kullus bloom for you? Mine kinda just sat there and did nothing for the season ... so indeed I'm hoping for better things next summer! I've heard this is yet another nice one!

Does anyone have a photo of their Kullus to post here? Thanks!

I had a few blooms that were very low on the vine. I am hoping for a "second year creep" Kullus this coming summer!

Me, too, on the "second year creep"--looking forward to next year. I think Tanya(?) has a nice pic of Kullus.

I love these both, Terry. My poor Ruutel died, I think. I was neglectful !
I would love to see a cross !

Suzy, I can't imagine you neglecting one of your clematis ... I'm sure it must of been a weak plant!!! I hope it comes back!

These are both quite dramatic clematis, I love the coloring and the large stamens which draw one's eye in. I certainly can't wait for them to become established!

Terry, lol, you're very kind. Actually, my Ruutel was just a tiny plant and I shouldn't have planted it just then, but I did. It pays to give these tiny plants a 'year in the pot' which I neglected to do. I was busy and I claim responsibility for the demise of my poor little plant. So many little plants and seedlings to tend makes for errors in judgement sometimes. So....I do admit I am 'guilty as charged' by me own self!

Terry, I especially really like the top one, is that Reiman? Gee, the red one is striking too! Are these both group 3 varieties?
