I always love watching birds solving problems. Whatever this Red-bellied Woodpecker was going after could only be "got at" from that angle. I had no idea they could bend this much!!

These photos are exceptional, Carol. Send that second one in to a magazine. It should be published.

Have you ever submitted photos to Birders World, Wild Birds or Birders's Digest? Your work is wonderful and so obviously magazine/book worthy! What a handsome and (2nd pic) contorted fellow you've captured!

Thanks everyone SO MUCH for the kind encouragement! I am looking into putting together some work to be submitted. I was pretty amazed at all the rules and regs for submitting photos especially if they are from a digital source. The original read-only file must be sent along with your final cropped version-for Birder's World at least. My understanding is this is to prevent any "photoshop fraud" or some such. I find this will be odd for anyone that shoots in RAW. I wonder how that works? The photo wouldn't be ready to be printed until it was set-up, as that is the whole point of shooting RAW. Right now I shoot Full/Fine but would like to move to a RAW setting, like Doug uses, but wonder if that will affect being able to submit work for publishing. Anyone have any info on that?
