Just as last year we have a clematis day in Holland. I have made a site where you will find more information: http://members.home.nl/hanninkj/clematisday.htm

Sounds like a great festival Ton. And over 500 clematis varieties will be sold. Man what I wouldn't give to be able to come, if for no other reason to look and dream!

I am so sad that I can not attend this ! Ton, all those clematis in just ONE place... I can almost picture the flower colors, and plants all lined up in rows ! What a feast for clematis lovers ! You will have a wonderful time, I'm sure. You MUST take pictures for us ! We in the States are all wishing we could be there to see this and buy all the 'hard to find' clematis that we can never get here. If only I were a bird with a big shopping cart on wings following me......(now, that's a funny picture !) Merry Christmas, Suzy

Very thrilling Ton! I have made a note about it. After all, it's not so far from Sweden...... I like your picture of Roko-Kolla very much! I hope you're satisfied with the new camera. It got good reviews here in Sweden!

Not so far for me either. I've also noted it in my calendar. I wonder which the three nurseries are...

The nurseries are: Kruse Germany, Plantshop Belgium has all the species/cultivar from Jan v. Zoest and Jan v. Acqoij with a lot of species and special cultivars. No Westphal because he does not sell interesting clematis to Dutch people, a little bit strange but there are enough interesting material in Holland.

I'm sure it'll be a very interesting day Ton! Hmmmmmm! Strange opinion from Westphal! But here we have "the answer" about Kruse Mara...... Still going strong, but obviously no time for the webpage. My Swedish Gardenbuddies told me they have bought clematis (plug plants) directly from Kivistik in Estonia. I'll contact them after the holidays... Roko-Kolla is on my wish-list.

Ingmarie - I'm very eager to hear what your Swedish garden friends say about buying from Kivistik. Were they actually there? Wouldn't it be great if Kivistik sent plants abroad! I believe a phytosanitary certificate is required from Estonia. It is from Latvia, I know.

Hello Mara! Some people have visited him in Estonia. He has been so kind and sent a "map" to them. It's not easy to find the way to Kivistiks's nursery. Of course they have called or mailed before going! It was an article with pictures about the Kivistik family and their nursery in one of my Swedish Garden magazines, I'll see if I can find it. TA is a society of "garden amateurs" here in Sweden with local sections here and there all over Sweden. The local sections order every year. But it's no problem if you'll order as a private person says my gardenbuddy Monica! You can just mail the nursery and beg them to send you a list of the clematis for sale spring 2005! I've sent a mail to Monica to ask about customs regulations and phytosanitary certificates. But if I understand her right, it's no problems here in Sweden.... After all Estonia and Latvia are members in EU!
