I have this one in the Tree Forum, but it is so quite, no response. Maybe someone will give me some help here. I went to the nursery this weekend and some magnolias are in. The owner said that the yellows are not good for my area-zone 6 in Putnam Valley, NY. I would love to get M.'Sunsation'. Has anyone any luck with the yellow ones and if you have, could you tell me which one. I have an area that has "spongy" soil in the spring or a very rainy season. It is situated between my house and my neighbor's house and on the west side has some trees that offer a break from the wind. Their house is a dark brown stain and I thought it may give a good contrast to the flowers. The sun exposure is better in the spring and during the summer it is more bright/open shade than full sun. If the yellows are not hardy does anyone have suggestions for the pinks?

I have also been looking for a yellow magnolia.I don't know the zones they will grow in, tho. They seem to be had to find here in NW Florida. You should not have a problem with the pink or lavendar in zone 6. I see them when we go to Indiana -zone 5.
