There was a time, before I had my garden catalog on a searchable database, when I just assumed I'd remember the name of a plant and not bother writing down its location. Ha. Of course, I still do this (it's the only rhododendron in that area, certainly I'll remember...), but at least I can look up most of my plants.

So I find myself with three tiarellas, but not sure where they are. This is either 'Iron Butterfly', 'Skeleton Key' or 'Pink Bouquet', but possibly a mixture of two. I divided and moved them here last year, and noticed that some of them were shiny-leaved, others a flatter sheen. Doesn't matter, I love them in or out of bloom, glossy or not.

One year spring will arrive and all this dividing will have paid off in a total groundcover effect.

I've got Iron Butterfly and Pink Bouquet, so I'll go out and look at the leaves later. It's pouring rain right now. (First guess: I don't think it's IB, as it has brown markings on the leaves.)

I have Cygnet and Black Snowflakes. They are brilliant plants both for flowers and foliage. Difficult to ID the ones you have though if you don't keep the names. I write everything down! I hope someone will know.

Between two downpours: My Pink Bouquet is growing very weakly, so I'm not sure. Could be. But the leaves on yours would fit the name Skeleton Key pretty well. My best Tiarella is a Heucherella: 'Kimono'.

I'm not too worried about their names, as some of these Terra Nova cultivars are very similar to each other. Kimono is my absolute favorite as well, Mara!

This is my Kimono which is newly planted this year. I'm interested to see what the flowers will be like although the leaves are enough! Black Snowflakes has nice foliage too.

This is my Kimono yesterday. Sorry about the weeds - it is growing in a part of that garden that is just being (re)created.
