It's poppy-time in my garden. I wish these poppies bloomed more than once a year. What can I say--I'm greedy! (And I wish I had Gardenbug's Patty's Purple Plum. I guess that will have to go on my ordering list for next year.)

Each one is just WOW Marcia! I have your orange one and just got Patty's Plum a few days ago...no blooms for her this season but the orange ones are going gangbusters. :)I would like to have the assortment you have. I've narrowed it down to #4 & 5 being my favorites.

What a great assortment of oriental poppies you have Marcia! I only have two, the orange kind which was sent in error and then this one, which I believe is 'Helen Elizabeth'

What beauties you have, Marcia! The last one is HUGE! I love the fringed one. I planted a pathetic mail-order PP but I think I lost it.

The poppies on both of these postings are wonderful. And Marcia, that last poppy is so big! I had no idea that poppies got to that size. I just bought an Iceland Poppy plant 2 days ago. I have a very small, urban garden, with only a few hours of direct sun and poor soil. Coupled with so much cold wet weather this spring, I've been getting very discouraged that my plants would never grow this year - except the clematis, which loved the wet spring and is growing VERY well. So, in short, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the poppy opened up today!

Lovely poppies! They remind me of my grandmother, and, yet, I have none in my garden! I planted one variety and it became a problem plant, so once it was eradicated I didn't try any more, until this year. My sister gave me a Himilayan Blue and it's a fight between me and the slugs to keep it growing! I love your poppies! They're beautiful.

All are simply beautiful. I've often admired the white ones. Maybe next year.... My PP opened its first bloom today. The plant must have 10 buds on it this year. Perhaps it is due to our crazy weather. This week 2 of my blue poppies bloomed as well. An exciting time!

I'd love to find Patty's Plum locally. When I have mail ordered orientals, I always have gotten a disappointing little root that takes 2 years to bloom. Aaron, I like the annual poppies, too. They are pretty fleeting. I had a dark red one open yesterday and the petals are all gone today! We'll enjoy them while we can.

Are Oriental Poppies not the most wonderful things? So fascinating the mixture of hard and soft lines and the intense saturation of color. I wish I had more room so I could have more!
This is a close up of Poppy 'Degas' in my garden. They are my best this year.
