This is a great plant. Doesn't get leggy or sprawl, great leaf form, phenomenal spring bloom, some summer blossoms as well, great fall color, divides easily. You can see some of that fall color in the bottom left corner of the first picture. This seems to happen to the young divisions that I transplant in the early spring, though the plant grows new foliage quickly:

I have also seen this called Geranium himalayense 'Plenum' and 'Plenum Violacea'. I believe they are all the same thing.

Mike, because of you, I might give it another try....
I had planted one in my former garden, but it never did bloom significantly...a few small flowers, that's all...
Maybe it didn't have enough sunshine? It was planted in the open light, at the feet of Rosa 'Bonica', but on the northern side...
I recently bought G. 'Summer Skies', another blue double. Did you try that one too?

Zepherine,

Mine is in full, direct sun from about 11:00 onwards. I'm not familiar with Summer Skies, but should look into it.

Lovely Mike. I have a young plant that went in the ground early this spring. I can't wait for it to look like yours.
