Not to me either.

I pulled out a whole bunch of this color 2 years ago from a different spot. I planted this in the fall. I need to see if I can figure out who I got it from because it was supposed to be pink. GOSH DARN IT!

Is that Turkenlouis?

Did they describe it as Salmon? I don't know why they do that since it is really screaming red. I wonder if the plant didn't get confused in the trade ages ago.

If that is Turkenlouis that is indeed what it looks like. Not sure where the description as Salmon is about.

It is very pretty though.

I had that happen one year when I purchased from White Flower Farms. Instead of 'Helen Elizabeth' I received a vivid orange. It is still in the garden, just out of place with the other colors. It is not my color, but still too pretty to put on the compost heap. By the way, they did send a correct one.

Same thing happened to me several years ago. Labeled pink, it turned out to be the usual screaming cadmium red. It has self-seeded and now I have two large clumps of it (in full bloom right now). It is the only poppy the voles won't touch!

Right. This is what I got last year and in spite of what people said, I hated the mix! Soon we'll see if I was successful in eradicating the reds.

I would be happy if it was red but it's BRIGHT orange!

It is never a pleasant surprise to anticipate all winter and then get a mislabled plant - although I have had a few happy accidents. A friend of mine waited for the tree peony "kinkaku" and ended up with "high noon". At least she wasn't disappointed. Today my peony Coral n' gold opened. I was so happy it was the right one.
Love to see your posts of poppies - I just don't have the room for the big orientals here.

Oh dear! I hope it wasn't me, Arlene! I only plucked seeds from the pink ones that
I sent (unless they don't come true from seed:). I apologize profusely if it was the seeds I sent to you!!!!!
