Hi all, I stopped for a visit with Gardenbug this week and just wanted to share a photo I took of her beautiful Blue Poppy. They are quite a challenge to grow in the hot humid summers of SW Ontario! Any that I've tried have done fine until the humidity hit and then just sadly shriveled and died.

It was a treat to see Gardenbug's! Plant Forum

I haven't been here for a few days. What a treat. Marie did you start from seed?

Congrats Marie! I am trying one for the first time this year. Probably the worst year to try it as it is supposed to be very hot this summer!

Oh thank you Carol! I really nice photo~!
I grew some from seed several years ago, but never got as far as Derek has! They grew but I couldn't keep them going indoors until it was safe to plant them outside. So then I bought some small plants that were on sale one fall and those eventually bloomed. Every other year I buy 2 more plants to cover losses. I now have about 6 plants in bud. I'm surprised they are doing OK because it is incredibly hot and dry this year.
